Draft Lesotho Standards for Public Review

The public is hereby notified that the Lesotho Standards Institution as the national

standards body of Lesotho is mandated to facilitate and coordinate the development of national standards and to publish national standards for use by various sectors that are actively driving the economy. Standards are prepared by technical committees which consist of representatives from, but not limited to manufacturers, trade associations, government departments, educational, research, professional and testing institutions, as well as consumer associations.

 

In this regard, the technical committee that is responsible for preparing standards for the food sector has completed drafting standards to cover bottled water and hygiene

requirements which describes the principles of control needed to ensure the supply of safe food across the food chain. This standard on hygiene requirements is applicable to all food handling organisations, which produce, manufacture, handle or supply food. These draft standards are now being circulated to allow the public to view them and submit comments to the committee secretariat by no later than Friday 30 July 2021. All the daft standards are available at the LSI library at the following address:
